I've got both. M8 Softail, and a 103tc Road King. I really appreciate how the softie runs, but the sound and feel of the 103 is very enjoyable. Lil hint of engine noise over the M8, but I like it. Curious what most others think. Thanx!🙂

I contemplated buying a Sport Glide when they first came out. Then I went and test rode one and quickly changed my mind. To me, they're just missing that visceral feeling.

Prefer my M8:
- better torque curve
- a bit quieter Running
- runs cooler

But, the exhaust doesn’t sound as good as the Twinkie…

I agree with TriGeezer. I bought my 96TC after my 114M8 just to have a rip and roar bar hopper, and to get what to me is the classic HD sound after selling my 110SE TC. The M8 spanks TCs in every category and eliminated every complaint I had with my 110 ...... except for sound.

I do like the sound better on the 103. However not going to sacrifice so much more bike just for sound.
hence trading my 17 LowRider for a new 21

I like my 114 better than my 103. Sound? Hard to say, now that there are a few cam/exhaust combinations that make a 114 sound good

My Indy mechanic. Which means me too as I don’t have to pay my local Harley dealer’s shop rate.

I have two M8s and two Suzuki motorcycles - a V-Strom 1000 and a Bandit 1250. The M8s spank the TCs in every respect and the Suzukis spank the M8s. I happen to like the later Twinkies. That being said if/when Indy shops gets fluent with the M8s for the stuff I can't or don't want to do my opinion may change.

I would not know why they would having owned a couple of both. M8 beat the TC in every way. In some ways like the EVO throw the right cam in it and see it come alive..
