Question There's a woodpecker in my bike - HELP!

Hello all this is my first post and I want to thank this forum for even being here. I have been trying, on my own, to figure out this issue for months before finally turning to you good folks. I have searched for every thread about a tick sound but haven't found a "tick" like this! It only happens after the bike has been ridden for a bit during idle and it's intermittent. Bike is a 2015 Dyna Wide Glide (103 ci). The only mods are Vance and Hines 2x2 pipes and an Arlen Ness Stage 2 Big Sucker. Power Commander V is running the fuel map. I plan on a set of 525 Zippers Red Shift cams in the near future and will dyno the bike when I do the cams but for now its running a canned map from Dynojet (Power Commander manufacturer). I changed the intake manifold gaskets and the exhaust port gaskets. Experiencing popping on decel at around 2300 rpms as well.

Seriously this noise is driving me insane. Have a listen and thanks for the consideration.

Welcome to the forum.
asking someone to download a file on your first post may not yield any results to your question

Fair. I didn't even think of that but I don't know a better way to try and get help. Describing a "tick tick" is going to make it sound like the typical rocker or lifter issue, which it is not. It's really a TIK once then nothing then TIK TIK then nothing then TIK. etc etc... I mean I don't blame anyone for not wanting to download a file but I am really just trying to get some help here.

Sounds valve train noise but the intermittent presentation is a bit strange. Have your tried locating the noise with a stethoscope? I would be pulling the rocker box covers and inspecting as well as opening the am chest and inspecting.

Haven't started opening gasketed parts yet. Figured I'd ask and see if anyone has heard something similar before I start tearing apart my engine. It's in the future tho!

Welcome to the wonderful world of chasing the Harley "tick, tick, tack, tack" sound. Many a men have gone there, a few have returned with their hair intact.

Welcome to the forum

The noise is trying to tell you something and asking you to take a look. The source may be harmless but if a cam chain tensioner or some other part is failing and more serious problems develop, you will be kicking yourself for not looking ASAP. Remove carefully and you can reuse the gaskets; have done it many times.
