In any case I would verify a proper MAP at idle right off to avoid any tuning frustrations down the road.
I am not sure why you are saying this. I put a 48 in my Fatboy 6 years ago and Bought a PC3 from FM and they pre loaded the map in it and the Bike runs like an Ape!

Scudda, where have you been? 60Gunner has no personal experience with FM but because he read something somewhere he thinks it is OK to go negative on FM; he is a SME (Subject Matter Expert) on exhaust, cams and tuning so whatever your personal experience was doesn't matter.

I requested a 57h map from FM when I put my Comp sticks in, specs were fairly close. Seems to run fine by me

Huh--when I finished 107 build with Black Widow 47 cams, very similar to Andrews 57s, I requested a map from FM on that basis and they gave me one for Woods 777 cams that didn't run worth a chit. Better maps were available from dynojet.

So cam install and rocker box upgrade complete. New cams, bearings, lifters, gaskets etc. Lifter preload set at just over .130
just putting her back together and have another question. I have 2 power vision tunes yet to be flashed. One a base map for the Andrews 48 from FM the other an actual tune created by Bob from FM on a members bike similar to mine. I will be taking it for a dyno tune shortly but in the meantime do I flash the tune before initial start up or afterward once oil has a chance to circulate? And which tune?
sorry but would rather ask the question than assume.

Turn on the key then load tune. Turn off key for 10 seconds then start the bike.. You can always load a tune.. Start with the one you want and if you don't like it try the other.. You most likely will have to auto tune at some point..

Follow up question because things don’t always go as planned. When installing rocker support plate I mistook the pushrod Center Oring for the O ring seal under the rocker plate. #17 in pic. It fits but slightly bigger diameter. Is it a concern and if I go back in any concern about affecting the rocker cover gasket?
They really need to colour code the gaskets…..

Just a note about O-ring color...

Color does not mean anything when it comes to O-ring material type. The important thing is to use Viton O-rings in that application. If the Chinese copycats don't specifically say they are Viton you can probably be assured they are cheap sh*t.

Many companies specify that O-rings they buy be a specific color to avoid confusion on the assembly line of similar sized parts. My kits may include brown or black O-rings, in either case they are the same top quality. I buy in lots of thousands at a time & get whatever my supplier has the best price on at the time regardless of color.

Thanks for your support!

John @ Rockout
