I've never torqued them higher than 90 in-lbs. I can't speak for any techs who worked on her in the past, though.

Still a ridiculous design to have steel screws going into tapped holes in aluminum that have to come in and out on a regular basis.

I'm not a fan of Heli-coils unless it's getting pawned off, I use Keenserts when available

Here's what happened to me. I wore out the torx heads on the bolts and ordered hex socket SS ones. They said they were for my model bike. So I installed them. They were 5/8" long. The stock ones were 1/2" long. So I stripped one. Used a Helicoil kit with great success though. I actually ran a couple test runs on some aluminum first. Learned a hard lesson though. Always measure 1st!
