JMHO but should the problem turn out to be the lower unit, I can think of several better options than the 120R which has had issues of it's own. Why not rebuild what you have?

I would prefer to build my current ride. The problem is I recently moved down here from Chicago and lost all my wrenching connections.

The idea of having a dealer rebuild my bike is concerning. I'd have to see if they would even consider using alternative parts like a S&S motor etc.

If I had a trusted mechanic around am sure I would build my current Scoot.

It has a new after market clutch, Baker 6 speed, cams etc.

I bought it new March 2005 and sincerely do love the bike.

Am sure I could fall in love with a 2021 too if that is how it goes.

I am getting a head of myself, first thing to do is find out exactly what is wrong. ( again, missing my trusted mechanic)

Understand. However, it wouldn't take much in the way of tools and time to check the comp nut but if you don't have the tools, yeah, hard to do the work without the tools.

Sad part is they prolly won't even give you 5K trade in for such a fine bike. If you decide to upgrade your bike, get ahold of Brandon or Justin at J&B Performance over in Mohawk. They do good work. (423) 470-4108
