Hi gang, I'm the 5th owner in the famijy of this beautiful peice of Iron. My first Harley,
I've owned all the Japs, I got 50 years of motorcycle riding, finally own American made.
My problem is the dip stick keeps blowing off only when I get on the gas. I'm getting tired of walking the ditch looking for the dip stick..
Whats going on?
Do I have a oil reservoir breather plugged or something? The top end is vented. The 88 twin cam has a Stage 2.

Plugged breather vent,
Bad breather valves,
Too much cylinder leakage,
Worn out dipstick seal/rubber,
Too much oil in the motor,
Bike has older oil tank vent,
Bad scavenge pump.

 

All the above. Thank you. I'll start with the plugged breather. First I'll have to find it.🤔

 

Mine started doing it Harley's antilog one. It was obvious, it was loose. There are two recess on the rubber plug. Grabbed a o-ring slightly smaller then one groove. All it took.
