Default Cam Chain Tensioner Removal Tool

I was watching some videos and saw a couple tools used to remove the tensioners (specifically the inner) without removing the cams. Anyone have experience with these? One was like a scissor action and one was like a slotted socket. Seems like it would make it easy to replace the shoes or the entire tensioner. Also saw the slab tool with the posts for removing and installing just the shoes on the tensioners.

I have this one

And I have the Cyco shoe tool. Both work exactly as advertised. Be advised there is a Chinese copy of the tensioner tool out there that doesn't work.

Yep that's the one I saw. Can't find where to buy it though. Where did you get yours?

I purchased the Cujo tool which is for removal of the rear tensioner without having to press out the cams. I have not used the tool to date, but it did get good reviews.

I have the Holescreek tool. I'll add it's a nice quality tool. You'll only choke once on the price, but then you'll be setup for those quick inspection / replacement.

I was checking out Mcspareparts.com website and they are out of stock on the shoes. How can I be sure I'm getting Cyco shoes from other sources? Anyone have a verified site? Doesn't appear Cyco Gaskets sells direct. Maybe I should hit up my local Indy.

Contact CYCO for a list of aftermarket vendors CYCO supplies with tensioner shoes/tool to be sold under another brand, like Twin Power. I buy direct from CYCO, just opened ac account for DJL Cycles a few years ago and have been buying stuff from CYCO ever since. Their gaskets sets are quality and half the price of Cometic.

Interesting update... I found the Twin Power shoes at JP Cycles and the CSR there said they were indeed CYCO brand. BUT for some stupid reason, they can't be shipped to CA! WTF! I hate this state.

Why are you changing the shoes? Peace of mind? They are worn?
