Advice on cam upgrade tc 103?
Hi guys I have a 2012 softail blackline tc 103 with around 17k miles. The bike has hi flow air cleaner and exhaust with a tts tuner.
I recently changed the exhaust (gonna need another tune) and have developed a lower rocker box leak on the rear cylinder.
So what I'm thinking is since I need a tune and am gonna have the rocker box off this would be a good time to go to atage 2 and upgrade the cams??? I have done some research on cams n cam plates/hi volume oil pumps etc. After the cams I don't plan on any other motor work unless unavoidable.
The main question I have is... Do I need an aftermarket cam plate/oil pump???
I could spend that money elsewhere on my scooter if its not that necessary???
Thanks in advance for any help.

Don't overlook the SE 204. Its a true drop in cam with no other modifications required to optimize it and it doesn't overtax OEM valve springs. Its power band characteristics are ideal for a cruiser. I put a SE 204 in my 2014 Breakout and love it. Much better torque in 6th gear vs OEM cam. Nice little lope at idle.

Thats most likely the cams I will be going with. Just lookin for a little more usable power on the low to mid range without it falling on its face in higher rpms (don't hit above 4500 very often).
Also a nice lopey idle would be great.
Thanks for the input!

I have been looking at the se204 cams and have heard good things.

The 204's take some of the low rpm grunt, (103's have plenty to spare), and move it up the rpm band. You're on the cam at about 2800 rpm and, as I mentioned above the result is a significant improvement in torque at higher ranges and 6th gear becomes meaningful (not just an overdrive any more ). You won't notice the low rpm torque sacrificed but the higher rpm performance will put a smile on your face.
