Don't laugh but it looks like a C clamp

Good catch Max. I thought the rocker are looked different but never occurred to me that it wasn't the correct hardware.

OP post a picture of the support plate with both rocker arms.

I'll have to say over revved the motor and valve to piston contact.. That looks pretty severe....

Yeah the guys piled on a little too quick. The guy is in Poland and English is probably not his first language.

My take on his OP is that he knew that the stem was bent he was just wondering how it happened. Being on the repair side does not always mean you get a full explanation as to how things got the way they are. You provided the answer he was looking for with the over revving of the engine as a likely culprit.

Had he pulled the head I suspect he would have seen the contact but he might have been wondering what the cause was as to how deep down the rabbit hole he might go. If he is just trying to work up a possible quote before going in too deep he probably figured it best to get some opinions before investing too much of his own time.

I've seen a number of bent valves. Have yet to see one bent at the top though I expect it can be done on assembly if the rocker catches the valve stem and things get cranked down. All the ones I've seen were bent at the bottom near the valve face.

Yup, at the point of contact. I still want to the whole picture; support plate and other rocker arm(s).

So, you never got an answer to your original question as to what caused the bent valve. Very sad; we all wanted to know.
