You will have to ask someone smarter than me why both pans share the same PN; typo maybe? If you decide to change pans, just make sure you are ordering the later pan with the fixed baffle.

Just for my own reference, did the "A" revision on the oil pan (62489-99A) remove the springs, or would you know? Just curious more than anything. On the parts finder, it shows the same part number for both my '03 FLHRCI and the '09 FLHRC, but the diagrams are different.
The 99A version of the pan is the later pan. Generally when they go from a 99 to 99a, it means an upgraded part and HD chose to call it an upgraded part. All early TC baggers with black powder coat can have the 99 part superseded to the 99a part. What is unfortunate is that the 99(non A) part won't fit the later bikes that use the stock muffler crossover. None of your concern tho.

Thanks @Max Headflow . I appreciate that clarification. Thanks to you too @djl (I guess ).

New oil pan and gasket is on order. I will switch it out next time I have the rear wheel off, which will probably be sooner rather than later.
