So I called fuelmoto and they recommended the Woods TW-555 cams. They said they love them and they have had great success with those cams. I talked to my Indy about that and they seemed more interested in using the S&S 585s or the 551s. They are an authorized dealer for Woods cams which is funny, even though they don’t seem to like running them. I’m not partial to a certain brand. I just want more power out of my 96ci. Eventually I’ll do more work like a big bore kit or head work. Seen a video on YouTube of a street bob with the 96ci and some 585s and a thunderheader and it sounds badass. Unfortunately the video is old and no one is replying on it lol. These guys at the Indy seem very competent and seem to know what they’re talking about, but I’m just nervous I’m not gonna be happy with my outcome. I feel like everyone’s “seat of the pants dyno” is different, and I might not be as impressed with the 585s without head work, and then that would make them more money to bring it back for head work. I’m honestly leaning towards the TW-555s because fuelmoto seem to know what they’re doing. Decisions decisions

Please let us know what you decide! I'm really interested which cams you chose and how you like them!

Will do! I can’t wait. Bikes getting dropped off on April 12th and I work all week so I’ll have it by Friday and I have a nice half hour ride home to see how she feels. I’ll definitely update everyone 🤘🏽

Alright folks. So I called Bob Wood himself today. He recommended the TW-222s for me. He said if you’re over 250 pounds this is the cam I recommend. Says they pull right off of idle up to redline. I’m not sure about using them though because I don’t want to run out of steam too early. I was riding the other day and I was watching my RPMs and I like to keep them around 2700-3k. I feel like the TW-555s will work better for how I ride. I don’t like to contradict anyone that knows more than me, but FuelMoto recommended the 555s and Bob recommended the 222s. FuelMoto said they’ve had many many successful builds with the TW-555s on dynas. I told my Indy that’s the cams I wanna go with. They seemed a little disappointed I wasn’t going with their S&S recommendation. I’m not against S&S at all, I really like the idle of the 585....but I’m not doing a big bore kit or upping my compression for a while. I don’t want to lose any bottom end performance. My bike seems to rip right now with just a stage one upgrade and FuelMoto tune. I’d like more performance all the way around but I wouldn’t mind if it came on at 2700 or so and pulled hard like a freight train til redline. I really like to run through the gears. But the other day I watched my RPMs and I shifted at like 5700. I’ve hit rev limiter before, and it’s fun but I don’t do it every time I take it out. But long story short, (I know, I’m rambling now hahahaha) I just wanna be able to stand the front end up and leave my buddies in the dust, either from a dig or a 40 roll. Either way you look at it, I just like to haul *** on a Harley hahaha.

Everything I seem to read about the 48s are from people using them in baggers it seems like. How do they perform rpm wise?

I will say I’m very nervous to make a decision and be unhappy with the outcome. There’s a lot of useful information here, I appreciate all of the help from you guys. Can’t wait to get it all done so I can just ride!

555,585, 222 ...I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with any but if you spoke with FM and described your style and expectations and they’ve made a recommendation I’d lean towards their advice. They’ve been doing this successfully for quite some time and many members have put faith in their advice. They will not steer you wrong and they are always a phone call away and more than willing to help.

Default TW-555s on the way 🤘🏽

Went with FuelMoto’s recommendation on the 555s. Can’t wait to see the results. I might have some head work done over winter to up my compression.....we’ll see how she runs with just the cam swap first. Will update you guys when I get her done, couple weeks to go.
