I didnt just do the shoes. I used the HD hyd tensioner oilpump cam plate upgrade.
What condition were your tensioner shoes in? What year and mileage is your bike. Its an expensive upgrade especially if you have a tech do it but I’m happy I went for the complete job.
Good luck with your twin cam.....nice to take a trip and have no worries about tensioners for a long time.
dlj, yeah I went straight to their website. Said they where out of stock. But I am sure alot of people are doing builds this time of year.
I previously posted that the Twin Power tensioner shoes were the CYCO shoes but CYCO has confirmed that while some vendors buy the CYCO shoes in bulk and rebrand them, Twin Power is not one of those vendors. So, my information was wrong; my bad.

I am biting my lip. Seems I read the information wrong. CYCO has confirmed in a thread posted in the Engine section that the Twin Power shoes are CYCO shoes, so I was right the first time but misunderstood what I read in a post in another thread. So the above information was wrong; my bad again. I just want anything I post to be accurate.
I have read this somewhere, not an original quote but applicable to this situation; "I thought I was wrong once but I was wrong".
Unless your motor already has 2 piece push rods the tank, rocker covers, push rods and lifters have to come out to remove the cam plate to inspect the inside tensioner. Perhaps inspecting the tensioner with a mirror works, I never tried the mirror.
I watched a youtube where the mechanic just cuts the oem push rods in two with bolt cutters, replaces them with adjustable ones and did not remove the tank or rocker covers to get to the cam chest....does that sound correct?
Routine for not going through the rocker covers. One advantage of going through the rocker cover is to install new breathers... and to just inspect the top end stuff.
A neighbor offered to sell me his 10,000 mile 05 Dyna for $3,500.00 last year. I asked if the tensioner upgrade had been done. When he said “no” so did I.
