Cycle shack slip on for 2004 fxstb
Hello guys,
I bought a set of cycle shack slash cut slip ons for my 04 night train. They are used mufflers. I noticed that they are just hollow pipes with no baffles in them. I can't find replacement baffles anywhere. Would it be ok to run them without baffles ? I still have the stock air cleaner. Is there any other baffle that will fit in it? Any help will be appreciated.

Cycle Shack is no longer in business so SOL there. Try Big City Thunder; depending on ID of the CS slip ons, you might find something there.

They don't seem to have baffles for 2.5" slip ons. I haven't found any 2.5" baffle that fits. DK customs makes inserts that is supposed to increase power. I'm not sure if running these without baffles will require a carb rejet.

The DK customs solution has been around forever. DIY guys have used a washer mounted in similar fashion to the early V&H Propipe; called it the "lollipop" mod or "poor man's Supertrapp". It works and there are several comparison dyno charts to prove that it works. The TQ increases can be modulated depending on the angle of the washer and carb re-jetting was often required to maximize the gains.
Glad you found some; I knew they were out there. You can always wrap with some ceramic or fiber glass packing to modulate sound.
