Default mufflers

just obtained a new CatRemoved Head pipe, and a set of screaming eagle mufflers. my question is this, how the hell do the mufflers come off of the tri glide. I haven't actually gotten under it yet to look, but was hoping someone would chime in with a suggestion or two. This is a 2014 tri glide. I plan on purchasing a tuner in the next week or two, and a upgraded intake, any suggestions on the intake??

The mufflers are attached to the TG exactly as any Touring Bike. No secrets, just effort required to change.

I just did mine on my 2012 last week. I bought a decatted pipe from someone on the forum and went to work. I did mine lying on the floor. Let me be the first to tell you that if you have access to a lift, by all means use it. First loosen the clamp that holds the muffler to the headpipe. If you look under the bike in the back, you will see where the bolts are fastened. They are located about 4 inches from the end of the muffler on the top. Once you remove these bolts, you should be able to wiggle the muffler and pull until it slips free. Make sure to put a soft blanket or something under the muffler. When I pulled the first muffler off, I dropped it on the floor.
You should also be certain that the new decatted pipe is a direct replacement. The sellers will tell you that all touring pipes fit, but, the one that I bought did not. I needed to buy or make an adapter to fit the trike. After I had the adapter made, I didn't like the result, so then, I decatted the pipe that originally came on the trike myself. I liked that result much better. Also, if you're having a problem removing the muffler, I might suggest to you that you get the 2 factory service manuals. They contain a wealth of information and will save you their cost in the first service that you are able to do yourself. Good luck with your project

I have the 3.5" rineharts & also put in the 2.5 " high flow baffles in them.
It's still not as loud as the same mufflers w/ standard baffles on my 2006 w/ no cat but ok for me.
As we all know it's different for everybody!!! I didn't want to remove the cat for possible warranty issues w/ out of town dealers.

Default Hey

Hey
So the 3.5 rineharts are a lot better than stock?
With some bark, but mellow out at 60 mph

Yes, better than stock but not like they were w/ the old "true dual" headers & no cat in my old 2006. I can still easily hear the radio at 75 mph.
Hope this helps but if you could hear the set up it would be better for you to make up your mind.

This is one of the reasons why I removed the cat from my trike!

I have a de-cat pipe. I kept my original just in case I would be forced to re-cat in the future. I removed my Cobra TriOvals today and installed my new HD SE Street Cannons. They sound really good....a deep deep sound and not to loud at road speed. They look just right too, much better than the Cobras. I put the billet aluminum end caps on them, looks durn good.
