Looking at a 2014 Tri Glide
I am looking at buying a 2014 Tri Glide. Currently have a 2012 Ultra Limited and looking at going to 3 wheels due to knee problems. I have been following this forum and I am seeking any advice or words of wisdom before I plunk down big bucks for a Trike. I think my wife and I will love it, but I look forward to any and all input from owners of a 2014 tri glide. Thanks in advance for any words of advice. jimr1960

Like You, I also am interested in moving to a trike. I posted a question on this topic: "2 wheels to 3 wheels regret?" The replies have been very informative. I think I'm going to go for it. I'll be renting a trike in FL this winter, and if the wife and I like it, I'll be looking for one before the next riding season.
I'll be watching the advise you get from these good people here on the forum. Good luck on your decision.

I am one of the so called Beta Testers. I love my 2014 Triglide. I have ridden the last 5 years ( 45K ) on a Goldwing CSC conversion bought new in 2008. My wife has put ( 20k ) on her 2009 Triglide. Both rides were trouble free except for the drive shaft on the CSC kit which had a couple two or three recalls, Neither bike ever left us stranded and because of the water cooling and sound/nav system on the 2014 I sold my Goldwing and traded up. Yes, I said up.. Love my new trike ( 2k ) bought in September and have not had a mechanical problem. Couple of recalls but no issues. This is my 13th Harley.
Now, for your question of two vs three wheels I have owned over 20 tour bikes and various others in my 50 years of riding and would never go back to two wheels. After an initial 3 or 4 hundred mile you will get use to the different feel of the bike and will not look back. Renting a trike ( 2014 if possible ) is an excellent idea but you need to ride as many miles as possible to get over the initial awkwardness. IMHO the safety and comfort feeling when maneuvering ( parking lots, dirt roads, gravel and slick surfaces ) out weigh any objections. The feeling of enhanced security that the BOSS will enjoy is also worth a great deal. Forgive my grammar..
Send me a PM with phone # and I will discuss with you.

You will get tons of information from this and Trike Talk. Wonderful helpful folks on both. I went from a 2011 Road King Classic to a 2014 TG. From my point of view it has been the best move I have made involving a motorcycle. After 50 years on two wheels I was concerned about the move to three. I love it. I can relax more while I am riding and actually enjoy it more.
Like others said you need to ride a TG and make up your own mine, but I don't think you can go wrong with a TG. Good luck.
