Now that looks plenty heavy duty. Handy is about 40 miles west of here. I am thinking maybe this summer I will put out some inquiries to see what I can get for my 2 wheel lift and upgrade to the trike lift. Too old to keep laying on the floor. I think I bought my bike lift back in around '95 or '96. The dealer was wanting to order some, that was back before they were a home "must have" item and needed to order them five at a time. I think it was $500 bucks back then, that was a good chunk. Took four of us to get it down to the shed. Not sure how I ever lived without it.

 

I checked on the Handy lift for my Trike, was bout $2100 for everything..i had a Handy for my 2 wheeler, sold that and got the one I posted earlier, there are many out there less expensive..

 

I certainly don't like throwing my money away but I research what I want and then purchase it. I am a firm believer that you only get what you pay for. Sure wouldn't want to drop my TG. Worse yet I certainly wouldn't want it to fall on me or M3.

 

I see some on here using 4X4 safety stops. Good idea !! I never have trusted safety latches !

 

I use 4x4's cut to height for safety and to support the lift just under the rear wheels. I have two sets of posts, one set for half way up which you see in the pictures and another for full height. Sometimes we have earthquakes and at times I'll clime up on the platform and trike while in the air. I also use clamps (second pitcher) to make sure 4x4's stay in place if things start shacking around. 4x4's makes for a pretty steady platform. Here are a couple pic's of my setup.

And I wish it was about 5' wider. The shop is 20'w x 50'd x 20'h and there's times I wish it were wider.

I am jealous. Since I have a one stall attached garage, the city made me build under 400 square feet. I went 16.5 by 24. At least I was able to build it 9.5 foot ceiling plus an attic to store stuff.
