Sounds like you too are suffering from a bad stock clutch pack. If it were good and the clutch adjusted properly there is no way it slips with the 480.

Nope... the torque on the spring retainer bolts are 10 inch lbs. Over torque them and you can stretch the bolts or strip the threads.

Hey Wiz any chance he has to much primary fluid in it? 45 oz is a refill for a dry housing. Should of only put in 32 to 36 on a drained fluid change correct?

No sir... primary fluid assists in the cooling of the clutch. Clutch doesn't need lubricant. Not having enough would be of concern more so than having too much.

My guess is his clutch is out of adjustment per the CW website and/or his clutch pack is burnt up like other TG owners have found. Some right off the bat.

Never thought one would burn up so easily until I pulled mine with less than 5K miles. Center bands were burnt up. That's why I went with a Barnett +1 pak.

My stock clutch started slipping at the 12K mile mark. Had the heavy duty clutch kit installed at dealer. It was actually cheaper than the stock parts. Weird. I asked the service guys, and they confirmed heavy duty *is* cheaper.

The TG is a heavy beast. I was not surprised I needed it replaced. HD should have the heavy duty set up on EVERY TG right from the factory.

Listen to Wiz,
Pull your stock clutch pack and you'll probably find out it is burnt. There is a sticky from Wiz on how to do the job and install the extra plate clutch pack. Either a Barnett or the Energy One will work just fine. I'm using the E-One, also follow the recommendation about the primary fluids. The SE comp likes Formula + and the clutch likes a bit of ATF. Good luck and keep us posted.i
