Default Looking for ideas Inputs on New to us 2010 Flhxxx.

Hi All, I'm normally in the bagger section I have an 07 SG,Bbut we just picked up a 2010 Street glide trike for my dad yesterday, He is super excited but we already have issues that we need to figure out. My dad is only 4'11" with a little weight to his belly, We new this going in so anything we bought was gonna have to be adapted, But he wanted to come back Harley for his last scoot, Where is a good place to find accesories for the trikes, does anyone know of any ideas that they have tried or are thinking of trying for a shorter person, we need to alter the shifter and brake foot lever to bring them back, Already looking for a reach seat to start the transformation, were in MN so riding to coming to n end so we have a few months to do all this so we don't need it done today, we would rather do it right. Also what are some options for the passenger? It came with a drivers backrest and a passenger backrest That a child could fit in between the rests, The guys wife must have weighed 105 lbs cause anyone with a butt wasn't gonna get between those backrests!lol Thanks ahead for your help and will be buzzing these forums alot now with dads new scoot he doesn't have internet.

My DW is 5' 2" and the combination of H-Ds Reduced Reach Seat, P/N 54383-11 and Reduced Reach Handlebar, P/N 56176-08 works good for her. She can even reach her highway pegs with this configuration.

The seat and bars may do it for the shortness.
The seat is the easy one, get that on first and see if the legs reach then work on the arms.
The people on this forum can give you a lot of other suggestions but first how about telling us whats already been modded out, or is this bone stock.

I would also suggest the rear lift kit from Tglidestuff.com or DK Customs.com.
A 30tooth primary drive pulley would be a plus also, starting with the '11 triglides HD changed from a 32tooth to a 30tooth.
You can read about both these mods and others in the forum here so I wont get into details about them. Read and ask questions, im sure you will get many answers.
The engine and cosmetic mods really should be his own preference , get a few miles on it and decide, of course the weather for you as it is here in N.Mich. is starting to get ugly for riding..
When you get the reach seat on you will have to move drivers back rest foward so that may take care of your issue there.
Welcome to the forum.

Icebite is spot on here, the reduced Reach Seat will move the drivers backrest forward creating more distance between the driver/passenger. Also, I put the Adjustable Rider Backrest Mounting Kit, P/N 54099-10 on the DW's, and even with it adjusted to the full forward position she couldn't get her back to touch it. I was able to take a little of the "bend" out of the backrest pad "post" and now it works fine.

The seat 54383-11 is narrower at the nose for shorter legs but will move him 2.5" forward. With the HD pull back bars as mentioned, that should work for him. Now, I'm a female with fat legs so they are shorter. I like wearing taller soled/heeled boots also. Not mentioned, if the budget is there a matching tour box with the back rest can be installed for the passenger. Plus the box can be moved a full 1" rearward for the room. Karen

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I guess the first step should be to get our hands on a reach seat and go from there. So if anyone knows of one for sale please let me know.

Possibly a HD dealer may have one and install it for you to sit on it for a try out??

I would consider eliminating the cat either by gutting or a new head pipe, and getting a tuner. All the new HD's run hot, but the trike seems to hold the heat more and have more precieved heat on the right side.
