Default How to stop the constant squeal from the right rear brake?

Again, the dealer said "every trike owner complains of the brakes squeaking". The noise is driving me MAD. What to do to fix this? They did clean the rotors and pads nothing else.

When my rear brake squeaked was after the parking brake was adjusted to work properly. When I loosened up the P-brake up the squeak would quite.

I had a kit tell me one day I must have a brake going bad because it was squeaking, I told him naw its a Harley don't you know hogs squeal.

Like SEAlaskan said its when the parking brake is adjusted that it will squeak.

Thanks, I do not know if the p brake was adjusted at the service, but will go to another dealer to get this done. the noise is from the right side, sounds like an old 97 Chevy truck....I used to own one, drove me crazy until got it gone, the noise , the truck went later..

Adj the parking brake or remove it. I checked my pads and the one on the right was almost gone. Plenty on the left.

Yup, it's the parking brake, most likely. Mine did it after every service. It is now gone.(The parking brake)

The squealing started about 300 miles and has not stopped. It starts when the wheels are rolling until they stop. You can even hear it at 70 mph. the worst is slowing down and its loud.

Are you guys saying not to use it and the squeal will go away? Or does it need to be adjusted so it can't be used and the squeal will go away. Is the parking brake causing pressure on the brake pad that is rubbing all the time causing the squeal? And I just got used to using it all the time. Looks like wheel chocks in my future.

Just get in the habit of leaving it in 1st gear. If your still worried about it rolling on a hill or something just carry a velcro strap or a heavy rubber band & place around front brake lever.
We never use the parking brake because of the squell & we never adjust it.
