My parking brake has been removed for 2 years now. I don't miss it because I never used it when I had it.

I'll trade you my left brake so you have a matching set. Might as well be in stereo!! LOL!

Hello, I have read your post last year and was just wondering how the heck you are after that nasty crash. I do hope that you have healed and got that awsome orange thing back on the road.

Same thing as everyone else. Had the squeak, maily left side for me. I stopped using the parking brake and adjusted the parking brake way back (loose). So it can hold on a hill in first gear. But I haven't had to use the parking brake since last year. The squeak continued after the adjustment but I haven't heard it in a couple of months now. Much happier, but I only hear the noise when riding slow. I did tell my HD service guy to not touch the parking brake adjustment when I took it in for 1K service.

I have kept the parking brake on for warranty issues, but mainly because it is fun to have so many people ask me "what the heck is that thing???" LOL

I'd still like to figure out how to add a reliable mechanical line lock to the rear brakes.

Am I the only one who thinks it is absolutely ridiculous to put up with this God-awful squeak on a brand-new bike that costs so dang much? Our trike has squeaked since day one (7 miles on the odo) and the dealership says it's nothing to worry about, "all the trikes do that." As far as I am concerned, that is absolutely unacceptable! My husband is disabled, thus the need for a 3-wheeler, and eliminating the parking brake is NOT an option. Who can I/we complain to that will get some results and the problem addressed and FIXED? Sorry to seem like I'm on a rant, but I work way too hard for my money to spend $40K on something that sounds like a clunker!

I've read this thread a couple of times and can't believe you folks have such bad dealers and horrible customer service. When we first bought our trike it was almost a year old with very low mileage. When the breaks started squealing, we rode it back to the dealer, walked down the street for breakfast. 45 minutes later we rode away squeak less. 3 1/2 years later and a gazillion miles no squeaking breaks. If the Service Manager won't fix this GLARING SAFETY ITEM, talk to the store manager, Area Rep for Harley, Then call the local newspaper and explain you just dropped $35,000 for a vehicle with squeaking breaks and the Service Manager makes jokes. Bet you will get some service. Wish I could tell what they did to ours, I just never asked. Are you lucky enough to have another dealer near? I'm in the Los Angeles area, there are a bunch close by. Personally, I don't have the knowledge, tools, or abilities to repair my trike, I have to rely on the dealer network. There are a million Harley trikes out there with breaks that don't squeak and parking breaks that work.

Good Luck, I know it is a trying experience.
