Remove lower fairing vent doors completely?
Does anyone know a way to do this without having to first completely remove the lowers?
When mine are open (which is all of the time) the toe of my shoe often gets hung up under the bottom of the open vent. 'Course, the fact that my shoes are 14Es might have something to do with it, but still...

Yes I do.I did it myself and not real handy.Take them off in the regular way. There is a paul or a stem that keeps the louver in the track.I cut about half of that off.It is still long enough to do its job but now one socket and five minutes is all I need.
Try it you will like it.

After you take out the one screw, you can flex (expand) the area about a 1/4" (with a screwdriver or such) to allow the plastic stud to slip out of the grooved area. I took one lower completely off to figure this out. The second one, I was able to take out without removing the entire side lower.

I took out one complete side pivot screw assembly with all the washers, etc. thinking that was all holding the vent door but of course I was wrong-it was still being held up at the top. Maybe that was what was holding it.
