Lift Brackets
#61
I bought DKC lift brackets. The shape was perfect, they were thick and strong, the holes were in exactly the right places, the finish was a very nice black powder coat. The price was right. They raised the rear of the trike enough to prevent scrubbing the pipes where they had previously (1.6" at the muffler end).
After saying that, would you believe that in front of Smokey Mountain Harley Davidson, Pigeon Forge, TN they have speed HUMPS that still cause my pipes to scrape??? I actually have to go over at an angle in order to avoid this. RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR PARKING LOT!!!

I know the speed bumps your talking about, I angled over them when my Triglide was at stock ride height to keep from dragging. The only thing I can think of why they would have them would be to slow down the throttle jockeys, you know the ones who seem to feel the need to try and impress folks by cracking on it.

Lift brackets
Thanks for the thorough and very thoughtful post, Kevin.
After three weeks on the TG I'm much more comfortable on it than in the beginning, but 50 years on two wheels doesn't help much in learning to be up on three. At least I'm up! I'm sure it will change as I can be a pretty aggressive rider myself, but at this point if I lifted a wheel I'd probably have a stroke. Most likely I should get a little more used to it before I do the lift kit. Right now I'm keeping 50 lbs. in the shocks and don't seem to be dragging.

I have a 2012 Tri Glide.
I just installed a set of brackets from DK, and I found everything to be top line as far as the quality !
I am very impressed with the changes that came about as a result. The ride improved a lot from the fact I can drop the shock pressure down to 30# from 50#, and still ride higher than at 50# !
You can gain maybe 3" at the end of the muffler, it's about 2ft or more from the bracket . Maybe the shock pressure also changed up with the bracket change.
The wife thinks it was money well spent ! NOW THAT'S ODD!! But the ride is almost the same as a two wheel glide. It does defiantly help the front brakes also. Tippy ??? All in the head ! You can tip over a go cart if you work at it !
The steering did change a bit for the good. I think it might change the fork angle maybe 1Deg or so. Plus more weight on the front tire. I had also installed the Harley double bulb (stacked) headlight kits, and couldn't get it to adjust down enough. The bracket change changed the angle enough to make the adjustment possible with some extra !
Thanks DK !!
