It is hard to please everyone. If they came stock I would change them. I replaced th stock ones already with a set that has a 2" rise and 2" pull back. I love them and so do my shoulders.
One of my riding partners has 14" apes on his tri glide; he loves them. He is 6'3" if that makes any difference. He said they solved his back and shoulder problems. I'm fine with the stock bars, but I'm only 5'9". I guess its really an individual choice
I did, but I had never ridden any kind of motorcycle before and knew with my physical problems it was a trike or two pedals!
I ordered my TG in December '08, took delivery in March '09. Had ridden an ECG w/Voyager kit before purchase, so transferring to the TG was not an issue.

There was no problem with the wires, they did not need to be lengthened. I had to have the clutch and brake cables changed which I didn't mind as I wanted braided stainless steel cables anyway.
