Sell yours yourself and then go to the dealer and buy the TG. I have always come out much better this way on bikes and carts then trading with dealer.

That's what I did. The day when you could get a good trade in price is long gone.

Some states if you trade you only pay sales tax on the difference.

Ohio is that way. I was able to sell my o6 Ultra for $7,000 more than the dealer was going to give me on trade in.

Yep, check around...I drove from Kentucky to Paris TX to get my 2010 TG...they gave me a good deal on trading in my 2010 RG too....

But, it's always money ahead when you sell yours first and then buy....but sometimes it's worth it ( time, money, hassle) to just trade it in....your call on that.

I always figure that vs. what I think I can sell it for. In a lot of cases there isn't much of a price differential if you are going to save 2 or 3 thousand in tax. (Locally, sales tax is now up to an Obama ripping 9.3%) I also factor in the aggrevation factor that in this market the thing may not sell for weeks or months.
