Rear Brake Failure It Happend To Me

Just a few minutes ago...today...did I say just a few minutes ago?? I was pulling out of a parking lot and my back brake bottomed out without stopping the bike. Shook me up some. Used the front brake to get home. I'm no mechanic...wish I was. Gotta have it towed to HD unless I want to ride 30 minutes with just the front brake.

Had my brake switch changed 2,000 miles back (not blead) and works great. I do keep my emergency brake adjusted to specs, when adjusted the brake pedal is where it should be. As pads wear the brake pedal travel will be more. Another + I use my emergency brake all time, especially when warming up in nuetral.

On my 2008 Electra Glide there was a steel mesh around the rear break line. After a couple of years of rubbing, it wore a hole in the break line. Same thing, pushed the pedal and nothing. Problem, I was in Jerome, Arizona late on a Saturday. Wouldn't find a Harley shop opened until Tuesday. Sooo we rode home just using the front break. Not sure if there is that mesh on the Tri-glides. Did you get the break switch changed on warranty?? The recall failure wasn't for failing breaks, but for stop lights inop. Good Luck!
