I would think long and hard about that mod. You will lose torque with true duals.

As far as it running leaner afterwards, the O2 sensors will adjust the air just like it would if you put a set of slip-ons on it. Your only going to get it too lean if you screw with the air breather then your going to need to do something about it. I did it (removed the cat) a couple weeks ago and I'm glad I did. If you had to remove that honey comb mess you too would be wondering how the hell it ran at all trying to push exhaust thru all that.
So I can remove the cat and put on some slip on mufflers and still b ok to run with out remapping or running a tuner?

2 1/2 years on decatted and wrapped exhaust, runs good, runs cool and no problems. The EITMS has not kicked in for the same length of time.

Take the stuffing out or buy some aftermarket pipes, it is not brain surgery. Remove the heat dam and the exhaust flows through faster, you don't hold as much back. The engine needs a little more fuel if you take out the cat or not, designed to run lean...we have had this converstion before!

+1 Lots of discussions on killing the cat along with exhaust in general.

How did winter treat you my friend? Been out riding yet this spring?
