I really enjoy satellite radio in the 4-wheeler. Has anyone had satellite installed in their Triglide...if so, how is the reception? Do you need a separate antenna? Thanks!
I have the XM module for the HK stereo on my 06 Ultra, its antenna is mounted under the fairing. I use the add on XM for my Garmin Zumo 550 on my Triglide and have mounted it under the fairing.
You guys ever have satellite reception issues with the antenna mounted under the fairing? I have a buddy that has intermittent dropouts when riding in certain directions

I have drop outs on my truck in certain areas. Heavy cloud cover or if you happen to be driving under trees will also cause a loss of signal.
I went through 2 Sirius receivers that I could move back and forth between my two HD's, neither one lasted a year. Bought the Road Tech Zummo 665 and move it back and forth between the two HD's and so far no problems, but haven't had it quite a year yet.
One thing I did not realize was by installing separate antennas on the two bikes it requires two XM subscriptions because the antenna is also the receiver but the radio is the Zummo.
I've used a Pioneer Inno XM portable receiver for 8 years. Neither rain or snow or bumps has ever caused a problem with the receiver. Only time I've lost signal is under a bridge, in a tunnel, or some HEAVY foliage. Haven't listened to a radio commercial in a very long time.
