Default Dents in Factory Mufflers?

I had Rhinehart mufflers installed before I picked up my TG and they gave me my stock mufflers back in the Rhinehart box. I never looked at the stock
ones until today. Both mufflers have a dent about 3 inches long along the side and towards the top, not far from the mounting studs. Both dents appear to be in the same location on both mufflers. My question is are those dents suppose to be there and if so I cant see what the purpose is, nothing seems to be in the way of the mufflers to require a dent at that location. Does anyone else have these dents on stock TG mufflers?
Thanks in advance.

+ 1 on the dent,

PS. HD has been making them with those dents in the stock touring mufflers for a long time.
