Question Putting "tubby the trike" on jack stands

OK, I know we've gone over this before.........I have eye bolts in the floor to strap down the front wheel, a 1700 lb auto hydraulic jack for under the metal plate behind the engine, and even a 1500 lb. Craftsman jack for backup. But I'm not comfortable about relying only on that jack when this 1200 lbs. beast is back-ended off the ground. Is it safe to put jack stands under the shock supports or what is the alternative?

I was pretty comfortable using the swing arm.

Good idea, Mike! What have you got for a scissors jack under there? It looks like you have multiple contact points on the bottom of the frame.

The jack is one that is normally used with a lift, it can also be used on the floor. This is the place that jack came from http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/At...ack-p/htbj.htm

I use a two ton floor jack with two 2x6 that reach the two struts the trunk sits on. It makes it easy to jack up while I push my car ramps under the ck up the front wheels and then jack up the front wheel where I place a 8x8 cut the same height as the jack stands. This allows me to work under the trike as well as the engine. It is a pour mans work around.
