Default rider backrest help

Found an adj. backrest mounting kit with backrest on a sale table at dealer.Of course it says it will not work on TG.the kit number is 5247401B I can buy it for $150.The mounting kit #54099-10 is $210+100 for the backrest.I'm whining cause this chemo I'm on makes taking that seat off and comparing seem like a weeks work.

I am just hoping that my 2010 TG and Road Zepplin can bolt up to this rest and save me some cash. There are many experts here and someone has a list of which backrest mounting kits will fit.

I will be very grateful for any info.

That backrest mount is designed to fit the old style touring frames, pre 09. I'm using the same kit on my 06 Ultra without modifications I don't see it being a easy bolt up. Last spring I thought I was being smart and bought just the mount for my Triglide figuring I'd use the backrest I already had for the 06. The MoCo decided to change how the backrest installs into the mount so I had to buy the backrest for my Trike also. I have the Zeppelin seat on my Triglide and love it.

I put the stock backrest off my 08 Ultra on my 11 TriGlide. It bolted right onto the two bolts that hold the passenger hand rail on. I reversed the piece that goes to the front of the bike and drilled a quarter inch hole in the fender and bolted the front brace to that. No problem and works wonderful part number 52900-09A.. http://www.harley-davidson.com/media...09_M_23928.jpg

I have the 52583-09A which was also listed as "not for trike". It fits my TG fine and was a hundred bucks cheaper than the recommended one for the trike. I also have the Road Zeppelin seat and this backrest is easy to pull out. If you have difficulty squeezing the prongs together, just use large slip-joint pliers.
