The pipes on my 11 are off my 02 Ultra and were made in 96, Of course you have to take weight into consideration when talking about overcoming wind and mountains. I think the 103 will work well for me and my wife Together we wouldn't break 280. You put the right mods on and it will do you well.

this kinda hits into what I was talking about, I'm 6' 6" and weigh 285 plus the wife weighs around 145. Plus I probably act like a big sail around 70-75 mph only for wind resistance and holding us back! Now if I could just keep the wind on my back...

I really don't want to get into the motor right away on a new bike (cams) so what mods would benefit me that are external--- pipes, header, fule management ?? where is the $$$ best spent. Good news already if I can use some of my older model mufflers +$500 +

You can use your older bagger mufflers if their pre 1995. Best dollars spent is air cleaner, exhaust and tune.

Stage One would be your best bet for starters,: AC, Headpipe, tuner, Mufflers. Get a tuner that can be updated to the future engine mods you have in mind. An oil temp gage would be a big plus also, You might want to go ahead and install a cam with the savings on mufflers as you will already have the headpipes off, to me they are a pain to take off and reinstall and the cams are pretty simple to do. The crossover pipe bushing (gasket) is rather fragile , be sure to expand the crossover pipe connection befor reinstall or you will be buying a new bushing.

I'd love to have a Streetglide trike. The one thing that turned me away was the room needed to park it in the garage. Sticker shock aside, those are the 2 reasons I'm not on one right now.

I bought one for my wife. She is 5' 1" and did not feel confident on my ultra limited. WE love it. Yes people could complain about a few things but is it a machine and you can make changes YOU feel are right. It is like driving a little sports car (convertible). Bottom line is that it is fun to drive and gets you outside. Having both machines is a blast.
