Don't feel like the Lone Ranger..

We pay 18 bucks for a tag then have to pay Ad Valorem Tax on the vehicle's worth. It runs about that much. Got three bikes that run about a grand a year for tags.

Makes you wonder what states like California and Arizona do with all that MVD money? They sure don’t invest it in the highways!

In Arizona, the cost of the license plate is based upon a percentage of the original MSRP and is reduced by 15% each year at renewal.

That's every year Boom... all tags are the same. My business tags run me a little under 10 grand a year. Now if you have a trailer... it's about 35 bucks for an open and about 60 for an enclosed. Each year it goes down a little as long as they don't raise the tax base on us.

Fog, you spelled "K"alifornia wrong. Just the VLF (property tax portion) of the registration was about that much. Think mine (personalized plate) was a bit over/under $500.

Maybe next time I make a Tobin James or Arciero wine run, might have to give you a shout?
