I use a magnetic tip screw driver and a little more patience! It is still a pain sometimes.

 

That is exactly what I did and it made it easier. I did not drop the screw as I did before.

 

My fix is from ACE Hardware. I used a 4" stainless steel bolt with the head cut off, a black plastic handle glued on the head end of the bolt and a adjustment ( may want to use 2 of these). Works great.
