This is terrible word of mouth advertising for HD, they would garner a lot more good advertising if they would just tighten up on the QC.

Good luck with the Tri, I hope you get all the bugs worked out before riding season.
The problem with Harley is they seem to be returning to the AMF days, QC and customer service are now starting to take a back seat to profit.

Yup,
Bill's absolutely right. We are still averaging 10 degrees below normal this far South and the high yesterday was 72, low of 40. Leathered up yesterday morning to deliver the FXLR to it's new owner. I was stupid and wore my fingerless gloves instead of my full ones. Damn fingers were cold all morning. Yes, we sometimes have to wear leather and chaps in Florida(lol).

Harley is putting the stock holders concerns above the concerns of their customers.

Jim you are correct. HD is more concerned about profits for their stock holders instead of owning up to the warranty and customer service obligations of their customers.

I thimk the heat problem with the engines is going to be a problem. Just how long they will really last time will tell. It is bad when a dealer say's as long as it last 2
years we really dont care.

The jury is still out on the heat, we never got a lot of oil analysis from Tri's with the converter and no cooling mods or with dino oil. Just a small percentage of the owners are on this forum and it has just been one summer for the 2010 Tri's.
In 2012 EPA will up the emissions standards again, it will be interesting to see what kind of rabbit HD pulls our of their hat for this one. The heat is a large part of the discussion on all the 10 baggers, not just the Tri.

The 11 Tri's are getting a lot of attention because of the frame and a host of nickle and dime defects that should have been corrected before they left York. As Chinese water torture, it's cumulative! Someone at MOCO better learn what QC is and they have to start working on customer relations. Most of the dyed in the wool Harley faithful are about my age or older, selling loaded up baggers to the boomers may have put Harley on top for the last 20 years but it is a pi$$ poor business plan post the 08 crash. There is not that many Harleys in the future for most of us even if we were not ticked off, the retirement Harley just went out the window with the 401K for most and for what we have to pay for em, no one is going to just settle anymore.

Selling on the hype and the legend is over, the damn things better work as good as they look or the metrics will eat their lunch!

The sad part is; plenty of other manufactures have chosen to go down the same path and have had disastrous results. You would think that Harley would have learned something from others mistakes.

If the customer base and the stock holders get fed up at the same time…”it ain’t going to be pretty”!
