Default Bad news

I was awakened this morning with a knock at my door. It was a friend of mine delivering the news that a good friend of ours had passed away last night. He was involved in a motorcycle accident that resulted in his death. Alcohol was a major contributing factor in this tragedy. So, please my brothers and sisters dont drink and drive and if you see someone that has had one too many take away their keys. He was a good person and friend, he will be sorely missed.

“ONE” is one too many when on a bike!

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for the loss, will keep you and his family in our thoughts and prayers....

A Motorcycles natural resting place is on it's side, we don't need to give it any help...

Be safe all..

Very sorry indeed. To me, bikes and booze don't mix AT ALL, but i have friends who are not as adamant about it. Booze or no booze, I'm still very sorry.

Thanks everybody. Many people are hurting by this tragedy, both family and friends. I did not want to sound preachy concerning the topic of drinking, so I tried not to be heavy handed concerning that subject. However, we often look the other way when it comes to drinking and driving. I don't know whether it is due to our misperception of invincibilty, being macho, stubborn or it being part of the biker lifestyle. Whatever the reason, we as a whole need to speak out and do something about it. That is why I suggested the simple actions in my previous post. Someone's life could and will depend on it. My friend wasn't with his normal group of friends, but the people who he was with tried to stop him from riding. He could be pretty stubborn and I am sad to say that his stubborness in combination with alcohol equelled a deadly result. I feel like crap writing about this as I feel that I am in some way disrespecting him, however I just hope we can learn from this tragedy and if it saves one life then these words that I have typed are worth it. Once again thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
