New Trike Saddlebags
#12
I like the concept of the new bags for refreshment holders. The wife and I do long haul riding (600 mile days) and keeping water in them would be nice. I haven't seen them on a bike to see if they interfere with the passenger legs. We had to take off the passenger grab rails for my wife's short legs. I am not to enthused to drill into the body either.

We had a problem with my wife having short legs and the passenger grab rails, removing them was not an option. I bought another seat and had 1 1/2 more foam added to the back and installed HD PN 50789-99B reduced reach passenger footboard mounting kit. When I say removing the grab rails was not an option I say that for safety reasons. All you need is to have some soccer mom yaking on a cell phone pull out in front of you and your passenger will understand the meaning of hold on tight. I've had those close calls over the years and my wife has had to grab a hold of the grab rails on several occasions to keep from slamming into me and making a bad situation worse.

Just a little info on the saddle bags. I looked at them out in sturgis and they are quick disconnect. You turn a little **** inside to remove them. My opinion is that the connectors drilled thru the fender look terrible with the bags off, but I geuss you would only have them off for maintenance. My wife sat on the thing with the bags and they didn't bother her legs any, but I still think they rune the looks of the triglide.
