I guess you can't report the item to Ebay unless you have some valid proof. Sounds like a scam if he wants buyer to contact him directly. Stolen maybe?

 

The sad truth is some idiot will try to buy it thinking he's getting a great deal.

If I would have had some free time I was going to twist the guys tail. I once messed with a guy who was trying this same trick with an Ultra Classic. I passed email back and forth with him and when he ask me to wire transfer money I mentioned I'd like to look at the bike 1st. I told him I was only a couple hundred miles away and jonesing for a road trip. He clammed right up and wouldn't send me any more messages.

 

See the same postings on CraigsList - definitely a scam. They'll only leave e-mail contact, claim the sale's a sob story (divorce, hardship, death, etc.) and want you to send the $$$ 1st. Best to ignore & find honest deals elsewhere...
