The gas mileage certainly does drop when traveling in 6th gear.

I know, just joking around. When I can get out on the interstate and get up over 60-65 I get to use it. The rural roads around here and the 4 lanes with a stop light every half mile don't lend themselves to 6th gear.

Will be looking seriously at that new 11 gear, might do me more good than a cam upgrade.

Then again being addicted to that extra torque, will probably do both. I bet that woods w-6-6 and that new gear would almost make these things run like Harleys are supposed to run.

Seems they like to use some of the smaller bikes as beta testers before they wreck the bigger more expensive ones. I also thought the HDLAN system was going to be just on the Softail

I got no better than 30-32 mpg while doing freeway running through Virginia and Carolinas. I was lugging the crap out of that engine in 6th!! Probably why I got to see oil splattered on my rear fender!

I will generally run in 5th gear to about 65 mph. When I do that I get my best gas milage. I have gotten as high as 40 mpg running in 5th gear.
