Cool Too HOT!

I need HELP real quick, PLEASE!

I am goin on a S Utah road trip first week in Aug. It gets bloody hot in that time of the year there.
I'm in N Utah and goin just for a 20 minute ride burns my inner right leg.
I know I have some blisters there now.

I just need some quick remedy for heat deflection.
1) Will removing the fairings just for the summer help?
2) Fuel mgmt system, I think that's what I read here, is that expensive and hard to do?

Cheap interim fix:
1. Get highway peg mounts (long)--50829-07A
2. Get floorboard extensions--harleygoodies.com (site sponsor)
3. Get longer (wider?) brake pedal. Kuryakyn has a good one.
4. Remove the lower fairings. This seems to help many riders.

This should get your legs away from the exhaust a bit. Fuel management won't bring down the searing heat that much. The best move would be to eventually get rid of the catalyst headpipe.
I've also noticed that turning the fairing vents to direct more air towards the engine helps. But this will also bring more wind to the sides of your head. Of course, this only helps when you're moving.

If you notice the modifications in Booms signature you will see where you eventually will have to go.

What he said plus header wrap, 2000 deg. minimum for the short term until you get a chance to get into the real cooling modifications. Wrap the Cat area on the Headpipe and really it will help to wrap the pipes up to the head also. You can wrap the cat without taking the headpipe off.
Your shields hide it so it don't kill the looks of your Tri.

Looks like you have some good suggestions that should get you through. You might want to call Harley customer service and let them know about your burn and how hot it is.

I totally agree with M3; it won’t do anything to solve your immediate problem but if enough owners complain, maybe…just maybe MOCO might stop ignoring the serious problem that is dangerous to the rider and jeopardizing are engine life!

I eventually resolved by excessive heat problem on my own but it cost me about 3k to do it and nobody will ever convince me that is right!

THANKS! Appreciate the suggestions!
I am getting the long 360 Highway pegs.
I turn my bike in on Thur for it's first 1000 mile oil change. And they are also installing my HD 2" pullback bars and extended cables, Kury Throttle Boss grips, Boss Levers.
They will also cut my foot brake lever so I can reach it safely and cut my clutch lever also to fit also.
Hopefully with enough funds left, I can get those floorboard extentions, the 19" ones.

Oh, and I WILL call HD Customer Service on my blisters.
I am surprised they haven't addressed the issue by now. What does it have to take?
This is my very first Harley and I hope to keep my confidence in them in the future.

These will help alleviate that searing heat on your inner thigh.

Just ask anyone that uses my product.
They'll outlast any heat deflector on the market.

Last August when I took delivery of my 2010 Triglide I called and complained several times, each time they acted like they didn't know it ran hot. I had one guy tell me the temperatures I was experiencing were with in design limits. I ask the guy if the Harley design limits took into account cooking the rider. People need to hammer them, they need to understand the time of putting out a substandard product and folks standing in line to buy it is slowly coming to an end.
