Might not help but probably won't hurt: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/index.cfm and assuming you get a ref number you can mention that when you talk to the MoCo.

Hpwever, I agree that anyone including me who were to (still) buy a TG after reading this forum fully accepts the "need" to spend the $2,000 or so to slay the TG heat monster using the increasingly proven upgrades pioneered by several here - and they deserve a vote of thanks!

I have the '09 TG and just returned from an 1,178 mile trip to Cody, WY...temps were 100 from Twin Falls to Caldwell. I have no heat issues.

I’m curious as to what kind of engine oil temps you were running with 100* outside air temps?

operative term here 09 Tri. No cat! I wish I had opted for the 09 instead of the 2010!

Do you have an oil temp gauge and if so what temps were you running??

Oil temp....I have digital read-out on dip stick (280). Seriously folks, I do not have a heat problem as some have mentioned.

Now, off topic, but the trunk lid is a different story....back to the shop next Tuesday for repair and tour pak lock crapped. Dammit

280 is pretty warm, hope your running a good synthetic oil.

Why is the 09 a better choice, IYO ?

I had a couple of used bikes to choose from before buying and I ended up with the 2010.
