True Duals for HD Trikes

True Duals for HD Trikes
I recommend you wait until the aftermarket exhaust industry catches up with the 2010 models and there is more out there to choose from. It's disheartening to spend a small fortune on an exhaust system, tuner etc. just to find it's not what you expected and then six months later "the best thing since canned beer" hits the market and you're left wishing you had waited.
They have them for BOTH ...
2009 & 2010

+1 on the loss of torque with true duals. I'm not an expert but I do listen to M3 once in a while.

I run true duals and heres my argument to say why you dont notice the small loss of torque with using true duals.....Unless your racing the trike its not going to be felt in lower rpms. Riding in town or lower speeds the true duals will help with exhausting some additional heat. I would prefer a 2 into 1 exhaust and have tried using one on my trike. Unfortunatley as with most systems, the muffler is too big causing clearence issues with the result being a very expensive lesson for me. The amount of torque loss after switching wasnt that noticible in the lower rpm range
I had the 103" kit done with head work and the 255 cams installed when my Roadglide was brand new, before I had the trike kit installed so I could ride again. Were I found the 103" engine lacking the torque n horsepower and wanted to make a significant change was in highway cruising range. Especially in pulling the hills and mountains and ease of passing.
My 117" engine doesnt make great horse power and I wasnt chasing horsepower. I wanted torque, lots of torque. With building my 117" I got what I was looking for, power to pass in 6th, pull the steep hills without having to over work the engine doing it. I got a good combination with my peak torque pulling hard around 2800 rpms, right where Im riding at in the rpms either in 5th @ 55mph and 6th @ 74mph
Exhaust, Cam choice, engine tune, quality of the gas, wind, terrain, additional weight added to the trike will effect how responsive your engine is. Each motor built from the factory always perform differently even with one engine built right after another.
As we all have learned, restriction in exhaust, lean fuel settings, added weight and more cubic inches will result in more heat. With our engines now working harder to move the additional mass added with the trike kit plus the wind resistance when riding the 103" engine is being taxed greatly for all the power it can muster

As for price ..... I'd go with the Fuel Moto.
I was just wondering about the loss of low end torque.

They'll get rid of the cat and like Rob said Paugho has been around a long time. Down side is you need to be able to tune the bugger once the change is made.
