Default Exhaust and A/C

Hi everyone! I have a 2010 TriGlide and would like to put head pipes and an Air cleaner to let it breath a little more and to hopefully cool it down. Was wondering if you have any recommendations on which pipes and intake work best. Thanks

I'm not sure what works best, but am quite happy with Rinehart TruDuals and a Big Sucker air cleaner on my '08 Ultra. The engine still gets hotter than any of my other bikes, even with the added fan.

I can only speak to Fuel Moto’s Jack pot head pipes; I have a set of them on 2009 TG and could not be happier. However, keep in mind that depending upon what the average OAT you operate in is; head pipes and A/C may not be enough. I would suggest that at minimum you will also require a fuel management to richen the mixture.

I cooled my stock TG engine oil temp down from 300* on a 110* day to 240* on a 118* day!

See my signature for a list of mods; also see my post “Comprehensive TG Hot Weather Test Report”.

A+! Remember that your engine is basicall an "air pump". More air in, more air out---great, but you also need to add fuel. And the heat is coming from the factory A.F.R. If your only goal is to cool it down, you could skip the air intake and the pipes and just get a fuel management system that will change your A.F.R. to a richer mixture and that will cool the engine down.

The AFR is lean and a big part of the heat problem and even a stock Bike/Trike needs a good tune to richin up the AFR. However over time this will probably make the situation worse on the 2010 with the Cat. The 2010 Maps from the dealer are lean because if you dump extra fuel into that cat it will stop up over time and will be even hotter, ruin the cat.

The Cat has to go if you want to get the total benifit from raising the AFR! Fuel Motto has a good headpipe and I understand Fullsac also sells a ceramic "catless" headpipe"

I have a couple of interesting question after reading the past posts
in this thread. Only because I don't have an extra $1500+ hanging
around BUT would like to maybe do it alittle at a time.
If you could answer each separatly .... thanks .....
Rob .....

1.) Could you just replace the headpipe and leave the rest stock ?
Wouldn't the stock EFI make the appriate corrections like when you
replace stock muffles.

2.) Could you just replace the headpipe and add say a PC 5 and leave the
stock AC & pipes ?

3.) Could you just replace the headpipe and add say a PC 5 & high flow AC and leave the stock pipes ?

Rob, IMHO, I say you could/should do #3 and get away with under a grand in expense. Fuelmoto would sell you the entire package. But I understand there is a 10-week wait on that SS headpipe. I guess word gets around fast. Who said there's a recession?

Ya but in 10 weeks the heat will not be a problem here ;-)
Actually by the 3rd week in August the heat will be gone.
Like I mentioned before the last 2 Summers here it RARELY got over
80 degrees and at 80 degrees the heat is a non issue for Lynn.
Lynn said she will just ride her 02 Dyna when it is over 80 degrees and
she wants to ride. As for the recession .... well I want to know where
that is ... LOL ...
We stopped at our dealer last weekend and just one of his salepersons
sold 15 NEW bikes (2010's) that week alone. Mind you that is pretty
darn good for a small shop in this area.
Rob .....

BTW ... I ordered a IR heat gun off amazon and it ships today.
Interested to see the actual temps finally in person :-)

I think you mentioned that you removed the lowers on her TG. That should get it through this heat spell.

Many a TG owner has asked the same questions Rob. You're right to watch your cash and examine every aspect before you purchase products to help eliminate the "rider heat" or the "engine heat" and measure how much of each blended reduction would be to your best benefit.

Product choice and timing is the key. The perception of what is good for the Goose is good for the Gander doesn't always apply.
