Default Tri-Glide '09 vs '10

I'm in the market for a Tri Glide, and I have an opportunity to purchase either a NEW 2010 or a trade-in 2009 from the same dealership. The 2009 has less than 2000 miles, and the dealer says it's trading in because the owner cant afford the payments.

My question, what if any are the significant differences in the model years. I understand warranty etc, but are there significant differences in the two years. I'm most interested in things like do both year models have the neck raked etc.

Thanks in advance, I can get about a 6 to 7 thousand dollar difference in the year models

The 09 will not only run cooler but it has more torque. My son has a 2010 and I have a 2009 and there is a major difference in the torque and heat. The 09 is the only way to go especially with the money difference the dealer is offering you.

'09 would be the choice here and I own a '10! (shame on me!)
Keep an eye on the trunk seal and rear brakes.

BTW, love those two 4-wheel toys you have!

I'm thinkin' the '09, I'm sure the look on my face was priceless when the stealer quoted my the trade and difference numbers on the '10. Then he immediately hit me with the '09 offer saying he would have that finished by tomorrow morning yada yada yada........he knew what he wanted to sell all along.

I'm curious if someone can find out what the OEM part numbers are for the '09 cam and the '10 cam. Besides the headpipe/exhaust, are there any other OEM part number differences that would explain the torque/power difference. For the record, mine runs very strong until it gets hot, specifically May through October here...

The torque/power difference is because of the emission requlations EPA has imposed. The MOCO had to install cats in the head pipe and run the 2010 leaner. That equates to less power and more heat.

Default Take the 09 and Run

I would jump on the 09 like a chicken on a June Bug! I had the chance to buy an end of season 09 and passed, went for the 2010. Big mistake! although I could have had the 09 for the same money as the 10, I have dropped a couple of grand on the 10 trying to cool it off and get the same low end torque the 09 has.

The Cat in the headpipe made a big difference! I would also like to know if the Cams are the same for the 09 and the 10!

Thanks for the info. I was always curious if there was an internal difference in the motor. Once I find a free $1K, I'll be doing the Fuel Moto headpipe and associated goodies.
