Default Try Again

Just go to motorcycle and type in mud flap in search if this does not work. I had the picture of the mudflap but it is not loading it up. Black with chrome insert and gold eagle in the middle of the chrome insert, can't miss em.

The scuffs can not be buffed out without destroying the the plastic coating & are very noticeable & very objectionable. Wish we had known this before we spent the money on it. If you are very aware of your fenders when getting off/on, then you should not have a problem with it. A new rider or passenger must be very conscious of that until it becomes second nature.
Sounds like it did its job, the scuff would have been in your paint if you wouldn't have had the film on their. I believe accidents happen even when your careful. I'd rather replace the film because it was scuffed than keep polishing scuffs out of the fender. If you have to buff it enough times you'll eventually go through the clear coat.

Here is the link ...

and it is listed under DuraShield Surface Protection Film
I got it at an auto store called C.A.P. (Consumer Auto Parts).

Rob, I like that inexpensive idea! Hope you have a warm garage, lol.
Keep us posted.

I suppose it did do it's job by ''teaching'' us to be careful when getting on/off, but looked kind of cheap. Just our oppinion though. It also tends to fade or discolor from the sun.

I had mine put on at a speciality shop. It is the 3M Film. You can't really tell that it is on there. The film on the fenders go from the pin stripe on one side and wrap around the fender to 1 1/2 inches wrapped on the other side. It extends from the bottom of the fender up 16" on the fender. It is very smooth and shiny.

Here are some pictures of it installed.
Stuff is very strong and definatly will keep it from getting scratched but
we will probably find a dealer that installs it for a living. If you look close
up on the ones I did it looks OK but not like a professional would do.
Easy to work with but it looks like very tiny air pockets in it.
Oldmsocko could you take pictures of yours ?
Thanks ....

Rob, I think that those are moisture bubbles and will disappear after they thoroughly dry.

I had a 3M Clear Bra installed on one of my Corvettes and I had the same moisture bubbles for about a week or two until they dried out! This time of the year in your part of the country, you may have to use a hair dryer.

+1, the stuff from Harley I had the dealer install had small bubbles until the sun beat on it a while.
