Shut Off Tire Pressure Monitor ???
#21
I can feel if a tire is getting really down on pressure by the way a bike handles.
A small quick wiggle of the bars at a medium speed will show it.
Not quite as well with a trike, though.
New stuff, more sensors, more worries.
Motorcycles didn’t used to be Rocket Science.

I'm Happy
My $40,000 '23 Tri Glide didn't come with tpms.
When I first realized that I wasn't too happy.
After reading about trike rear tire pressures I no longer care. It would pi$$ me off.
I check tire pressures with everything else weekly anyway. Without fail. I'm happy not to have it.
I will research it to see if I can find anything other than an ECU reflash that will turn it off or change the settings.
Ride a lot, but BE SAFE!!

I have survived too. In fact I survived for years with out an airbag in my vehicle. Until I was in head on collision.
I see no reason not to have it, other than cost. I love it in my trucks I tell you. I have picked up nails, got the warning, and kept on it until I was somewhere I could change tire. watching pressure as I went.
I just don't agree with the attitude, I don't want it because I never had it. I never had a *****. But once I had it I could not get enough of it. But survived all those years without it.

ShovelEd adoes have a good point: We have so many technical solutions on our vehicles now that we cannot personally repair ourselves when they screw up. When they do screw up, the remedies will involve an HD dealer diagnosis and repair, and will likely be costly.

See:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/tri-g...o-on-tpms.html
which tells you ALL about the TPMS system and other very important restricitons on valve stem disturbance, wheel size changes, and use of liquid tire balancers!

Had four recent bikes with TPMS. Call me a slave to tech, but I won’t buy another one without it. Or that I can’t install on it, which I assume requires tubeless tires?
Anyway, different strokes ’n all...
