Default Lower Fairing Vent Doors

On my 2013 TG, I notice that the lower fairing vent doors are loose. I had tighten the nuts and I can feel the doors clicking and stay in place when opening and closing. After a long ride, they become loose again with no clicking when opening or closing the doors. Any ideas of the cause?

Did you try locktiting them? Road vibration probably the cause.

I have the same problem with the lower vents, esp. the left side. Pops out of the " hinge" ( if you can call it a hinge). Not very sturdy IMHO.
I just keep an eye on them at stops, and hope they don't blow off.🥴

The serrated washers that mesh and hold the doors open wear out.

Tightening the nut will do no good.

There's two on each side. Replace those, along with the rubberized spring on each side, and you should be good to go.

Part numbers follow...

58105-05, lower washer

58173-05, upper washer

58104-05, spring

Lastly, the glovebox tray, where the vent doors attach, eventually breaks, which will cause the doors to flop around.

As long as you're in it that far, replace those too.

58893-05, right glovebox tray

58903-05, left glovebox tray

Parts should come in right around $100.
