Those of you planning to use those fender chaps be aware of the potential wear on the paint from dust and debris getting between the two. If you use them please take off and inspect for damage and clean both the fender and chaps often.
if the reflector is in the way, you can move that easily.

That is one of the reasons why I do not use them. Once you do, they pretty much are on there for life....taking them off is going to reveal where the paint has been scratched.

IMHO…why put the leather chaps on the fenders if you are covering the paint?

But now all ya have is an ugly chap. I’d rather have a few chips, and be able to see my beautiful bike. JMHO YOMV…

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I think a chipped up fender is ugly.

I have no issues with Frank's chaps on my wife's Freewheeler. Going on on two years.

Do you take them off and clean them and the fender as Frank recommends? Or, I should say, does your wife?

I'm not familiar with how to do it, but that **** is on a few of the leading faces on our '03 Jeep, and it has cracked, discolored, and basically turned to garbage.
We didn't install it, so cannot be certain as to the brand, but I sure wish the PO hadn't done it because it looks worse than damaged paint.
