Trike Mid Step
#31
Sounds like we all do something just a little different. I am a pretty big guy - 6"3" tall and 280 pounds.
So, I mount from the left but putting my foot on the passenger boards. When I swing over, I put my right foot on the right passenger board. If I tried to go to the floorboard, my left foot would be so far back that such would be uncomfortable.
Now, from two feet on the passenger boards, I simply put my left foot on the driver's boards - and use the bars to somewhat hold me there. The, at the same time, I move my right to the boards.
To get off, I use the drivers' boards and bars to sort of stand. From there, my left foot goes to the left passenger board. I then push against the bars and, at the same time swing my leg over to the seat - and get off.
This seems to work well for me.

I know this is an older thread, but if any of you are still in the market for a mid-step there is one in the classifieds taken off a 2019 trike...

Got the mid step installed yesterday. The only issue is they shorted me 1 U-bolt but I'll pick one up local so no problem there.
Easy install. Took me maybe a hour including beer breaks and a knee I can't kneel on so I pretty much looked like a beer drinking whale flopping around on the shop floor.
Pricey but in my case they work better than crawling on the trike.
I put the shocks back on. I took them off thinking I'd have the lift kit and 14" PA but apparently they are back ordered. Wish I'd have known.
They did charge my CC first thing though.
