Head pipe
#2
I have a decatted stock pipe ready to go on this spring/summer for my 20. $tone Cold and Steve Cole did all of their cam testing in the m8 section with this pipe as well as a few others, with very good results. Unless you are trying to get every last hp out of it it will work, but for more enhanced performance, big bore etc, a performance pipe for sure. On the twin cams I used the FM headpipe, or Fullsac sport pipe, both worked very well. True duals seem to hurt performance a little on low side, from what I’ve read. The key to m8’s is not to over exhaust. Good luck.

Funny this comes up now. I have been wrestling with what do do with my 2020 Triglide for the last few months. I was going to go with the Full Sac sport pipe vs. Cobra Power Ports and ultimately decided to go with the Fuel Moto Jackpot 2-1-2 Stainless Steel headers. They were just delivered today so in the next week or two I will be installing them. Read good things about the Full Sac and almost went that route as they are basically stock pipes decatted with the primary tubes lengthened by 6". I decatted the stock headers on my 2016 Street Glide Special and I had no issues but I was told that doing that the o2 sensors can cross talk....I already have the Vance & Hines Classic Turn Down mufflers on my trike and the Fuel Moto headers are supposed to fit right on without any adapters and uses the stock heat shields....I will let you know in a week or two....

It is also critical with the placement of those O2's, so they can give accurate information to the ECM to adjust fuel mixture.
Some headers come with bungs for 12mm narrow band O2's and others come setup for 18mm wide band O2's. You can use bushings in the 18mm bung for the use of the 12mm. But each manufacture has their O2 bungs placed for optimal use in their headers.

Your best move is to communicate with the people that made the head pipe.
Ask about what they recommend for the can you plan on using. They will ask about your driving habits and how you want your engine to perform.
Also don't over exhaust. The engine still needs a certain amount of back pressure. The mufflers need to not go over a certain size baffle. the header manufacture can help there also. Head on over to our tech section and ask a few questions there. That's what they are there for.
Keep in mind that the trike is heavy and in need of high torque at the bottom end unless you plan on running at around 3500RPM + all the time. It takes torque to get things moving first !
Ask Steve Cole about things, He wrote the program for Harley ECM's. He owns TTS. They also make cams for Harley.
