Default Idle

My 2017 Triglide runs fine. However, recently I have noticed that after the engine gets hot, stopped in traffic, it acts like it wants to die. The idle almost stops then starts back up. Anyone experienced this? Issues? Solutions?

thanks

Your EITMS is turned on. (engine temp management system) It disables the rear cylinder when hot and at an idle. To turn it off, roll the throttle off as far as it will go and hold it for a few seconds. Turn it back on the same way...

I have a 2016 TG and I swear mine is programmed bass ackwards. When it is on the engine is extremely rough almost dying at stop lights when hot. But, if I turn it off it's smooth. Go figure.

Default Here ya go.

How the EITMS system works is in the handbook. Here is a good link from Fuelmoto USA that lays it out pretty well. Pay particular attention to the part about WHAT CONDITIONS activate EITMS.

https://university.fuelmotousa.com/h...-System-EITMS-

I leave mine on as it helps with heat control and the rough idle when stopped doesn't really bother me. As soon as i blip the throttle and start off it turns off...until one of the conditions are met again.

Enabling ETIMS actually raises the idle speed. I find that it idles much better in hot weather with the ETIMS enabled.

No, that's backwards. With ETIMS enabled and activated when above air temp above 80 deg at idle your rear cylinder drops out. If a one cylinder idle is better for you than two then you have a real problem.
